E36 m3 Rattling when clutch is not pressed, almost stalls out and revs

Need help figuring out what the issue is for my E36 m3. When I start my car there is a rattling near clutch and it will idle right above 1,000 rpm then drop and almost stall out. When I press the clutch in noise stops. Noise is also louder when running A/C. Not sure if it is TOB need help determine problem before I fix it
    Thanks
Not sure if I can upload a video to show on here but would appreciate any feedback

    Welcome to the Forum!

I am thinking you have 2 issues here, one is the TO Bearing, and the second is a dirty ISV.

Well possibly 3, for the idle pulleys can make a racket too before going bad.

OR, you might have a lightweight solid flywheel, in which case gear rattle is normal.

As for the idle speed/dying, I'd guess you have an intake /ccv system leak, and you need a smoke test, with a professional smoke machine, at a good Euro shop, to find the leak.
