Need Parts / WTB: 1984 745i Euro Spec + Unique history behind car

Hello Everyone,

I just bought a 1984 745i and it's need of some bits and pieces.

• Front Grills
• Front Passenger Seat: (RT) Black Buffalo Hide, has tears, need replacement.
• Front Drivers Seat: (LT) Black Buffalo Hide, foam is deflated and electric head rest doesn't work.
• Dash is cracked
• Wood Center Console piece immediately below the radio. Just the one piece, don't need all the wood.

I'm sure there will be other bits and pieces I need as I work on the car.


For anyone that wants a cool story:

This car was originally my father's car in the 90's. He sold the car in 1996 and neither of us had any idea where it was. He did a full A1+ restoration on the car, Hardy & Beck 3 piece wheels, Mtech/Bilstein suspension, executive package, buffalo interior, etc. Anyway, it was a beautiful car.

I was browsing craigslist, as you do, when I came across this car. "Wouldn't it be funny if this was my father's old car..." I thought to myself. Ended up talking to the owner and matching the vins ITS THE SAME CAR!!! Bought it on the spot.

It was very well taken care of mechanically, but it's showing its age in other places. Thus this post needing some bits and pieces to get the car back to it's original glory. Anyone that's interested in hearing how the car comes along, I'll post updates of working on the car and continue the story!


HIGHLIGHTS:

• Original euro bumpers and headlamps
• Hardy and Beck 16"x8" Wheels refurbished in shadow chrome with polished lip.
• Genuine Mtech springs (rare as hens teeth) and Bilstein sport shocks
• ARP Studs with new head gasket - Total Racing high zinc oil has been used exclusively post rebuild
• Bimmerheads Performance Head rebuild w/ HD rockers - Ported and Polished
• Transmission Rebuilt Professionally Six Months ago (with warranty from Peter Schmid in Burlingame)
• Turbo rebuilt by Pure Turbos with 60mm Garrett Comp Wheel
• Modified OEM Wastegate w/ TIAL top for increased boost by “the745haus”
• Exhaust Manifold, Elbow and charge pipe have been ceramic coated
• 3” Exhaust with Magnaflow Resonator and muffler (no drone!)
• Custom ECU Chip by “the745haus”
• 245/45/R16 Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 Tires
• Original Becker Radio with four new Kenwood speakers.

Areas that could use attention:

• New air slide valve to help cold starting (NOS for sale on Ebay)
• Rebuild AC system (note: heater core and blower motor due function properly).
• Passenger seat has tears
• Both front seats need new padding

I did it a different way, add a chunk of bic stick pen ink reservoir plastic to the bottom of the hose from motor to the headrest to move the cable up so that it reached the slave. Been good for decades.

Post the vin and we'll see what the car came with when new.

wow i was going to go look at this car a couple weeks ago, since i was heading to monterey in a few days, and the night before i head out, the ad is pulled, emailed and no reply. Figured it must have sold.
