Tow capacity of a 535i?

I got a jet ski trailer I wanna pull to the lake on the weekends with my 1990 535i sedan. I can’t find much clear information regarding tow capacity and hitch style but what is the max I can tow with this car using an aftermarket hitch from like uhaul? And second of all if I do this install, where do I hook up the trailer harness to one of the taillight wiring?

You should be able to tow a jet ski without any issues, even with a light-duty hitch. And yeah, you would just tap into one of the brake lights for the wiring, that’s how I’ve seen it done with aftermarket hitches. In Europe they had nice OEM hitches with proper wiring harnesses, but we never got those here.

Uhaul got 2 hitches. Part number CMF11511 ($175) and 217211 ($160). What’s the difference between these 2?
