    LED Halo Wiring

Im trying to figure out where to wire the halos so that they come on with the ignition and not with the parking or fog lights. Does anyone know which wire I can tap into under the hood to achieve this?

All my cars have halos, two of them are facelift cars, so those halos come on when the lights are on, just like yours. My 2000 wagon came with facelift headlights, and tail lights, and Jack, the fellow I purchased the car from had wired them to that wire that comes on hot, out of the electronic compartment underneath the passenger side cabin filter. There are many threads about this, and that is what many have resorted to wire them up to. Make sure you run in line fuses just in case you end up with a short, I believe the wires are tied into one of the main wires out of the DME that becomes energized as soon as you turn the key. I run LED bulbs, it is such a small draw, hope this helps.

One of the pins/wires into the diagnostic port ("pacman") under the hood (passenger-side strut tower) is 12v hot and easy to access (if your car has the pacman).

His car is a 2001 530, the 20 pin Pac Man ports ended with the 2000 E39 cars.
