    2004 bmw x3 auxiliary wire?

My father passed away this past April 18th. He had an X3 from 2004. We got it new and are the original owners. We have about 130 thousand miles on it. Need some work done like the 4x4, BRAKE, and ABS light all come on at the same time. The drive nut thing needs replacing. And 2 windows in the back don't work anymore. But my guy will do it. Other than that it runs great.
But I need the auxiliary for audio like my phone hookup to the car. FM transmitters are garbage. So direct aux to the stereo is needed. I don't recall seeing an auxiliary hole int he glove box. We never added one either unless the factory did. But I doubt it. 2007 was the first some here say to have it from the factory behind the center storage area in the pop out thing. But I just have a cigarette lighter connection there and nothing else. So I probably don't have the auxiliary port for audio.
I read somewhere the dealer was about 150 dollars to install the cable. But that was ages ago. I just called a few days ago and they don't even sell it anymore. Its universal he said on the phone. He most of misunderstood me.
I will have somebody else do it for me. But I need to make sure I order the right thing. What is the exact name and part number of the cable needed. The other website I saw said 40 bucks. He linked here.

Its close to 50 bucks with shipping. I was wondering if any other cable will work like this.

I saw a review on amazon for this.

    He said.
Does not incorporate resistor nor capacitor needed to identify cable as aux.
My other linked cable might have same issue. Not sure. The big box with the 3.5mm might have the resistors or capacitors needed. Not sure.
Or this looks like it might fit in the ash tray area.

Or this has USB port also but not sure if it will fit.

Realoem.com was also suggested but it says.

The specified part was not found.
