So I bought a LCM from a 2005 x5 to program into my 2001 bmw 540i. I installed it and ordered three seperate pasoft scanners with the cables. 1 off of a reputable amazon listing (Isaddle), one off of aliexpress, and the third from a bmw pasoft website. I went through hell getting the drivers to work and read ONLY the BMW's DME section in PASoft but after DME EVERYTHING else shows <Not Found>? On top of that when I click the "Car Ident." Option it says unable to connect to IKE or EWS systems! I searched online for possible solutions andmost / all have mentioned soldering pins 7 & 8 and if that doesnt work then to solder pins 1 & 2 together. I tried BOTH steps and yet still it does not connect to any other module aside from DME! What could cause it to only read DME and nothing else? Am I doing something wrong? I'm just trying to code this LCM to remove the tamper dot from the cluster and remove >SELFLEVEL SUSP. INACT< message from harassing me and get my angel eyes back! Any help is much appreciated.

It is probably a bad cable or driver problem.
Get INPA instead…
Software: free “Mike’s easy BMW tools” on a Windows laptop
Hardware: K+Dcan cable with a switch, to avoid the soldering
Cost: about $30 for the cable

I've had INPA, NCS, etc. up and running for a while now.. Issue was with reading anything aside from the DME which was read through pin #7 on OBD-II (ISO. The culprit was pin #8 on the OBD-II showed no voltage. Traced the issue to a corroded section of 4 white cables with a purple stripe on all 4 cables under driver side foot section. I repaired corroded white with purple stripe cables and all is good. Pin #8 now is functioning and I was able to code LCM to my car and regain my angel eyes! Oh, and read all other modules and stuff..
Great diagnosis!
Good job..,
Amazing how about 80% of problems are traced back to loose or corroded electric connections on our older cars .!!
