I had to remove the side skirts, and am preparing to reinstall them. I bought new white clips, green grommets, and the bottom and rear fender lip rivets.
But how do the old green grommets come out? They are a rigid plastic, and tightly latch into the holes.
What is the method to remove them without damaging the paint or the metal panels?
You have to break them out. It isn't hard to protect the paint in the process, but it is a lost cause getting all of the broken bits out of that body cavity.
Unless your green grommets are shattering (sun exposure is the only way this happens), leave them in place and don't try to replace them. You can lube the white clip pins to minimize force needed to fit the side skirt.

Thanks for the tips. I don’t know the condition of all the green grommets yet, as I only pulled out one of the white clips.
I bought a full set of replacement white clips, as well as green grommets, but it would certainly be easier to reinstall the side skirts by just leaving the green grommets in place and just using the new clips.
If I do need to remove some grommets, how do you suggest breaking them? I thought about trying to drill them out.
Thanks
