Looking for replacement head unit for 2014 BMW 320i xDrive

I have searched the forums for similar threads and have only found some folks asking the same questions, but no end results/resolutions so I apologize for the new thread.

I'm looking for a replacement head unit for my 2014 BMW 320i xDrive as the screen is stuck at the BMW logo and rebooting constantly. While at the logo, there is sound from the radio but the only functions that work are the volume, then the entire thing reboots and the volume level resets. I am unable to access any of the menus, or switch modes to AUX. I can't even change the time. It is the CIC system as far as I can tell, no NAV.

If there is a way to find a used head unit anywhere? I'm hoping that I can buy a unit and take it to my local garage for installation. Or is there a way to have these units repaired?

Thanks so much for any assistance!

Although it may cost a bit, I would take this time to upgrade to an NBT or even NBT Evo with navigation and all. That would be up to you.

Using any used head unit would require special programming to mate it to the car.

That is what I was thinking as the path of least resistance (but obviously highest cost).

I’m hoping to explore the used option a bit more before I go that route, however.

As far as programming goes, who could program a used unit (should I find one) to work with my vehicle?

Thanks so much for the reply!!!

It depends what the replacement head unit would be, and how well it's done.

As a cost vs. upgrade recommendation, I would upgrade to a used NBT unit from 2013-2016 (not terribly priced) with navigation. Get the unit, the screen, and possibly the telephony module (although this may not be necessary), and the i-drive controller + controller module.

Then some faked FSC (option enabling codes) would need to be loaded in to enable navigation and map updates, and changing the unit's VIN to match.
