The inner boot on my cv is leaking and I'm planning to regrease and reboot. I'm wondering if it is worth doing the outer boot while I'm there? These don't seem too prone to cause any issues but wondering if it is worth it.
I came across this thread and looks like you can soak the outer joint in gas and repack with greese. Has anyone does this or the consensus is to leave it alone?

Surely the rubber on the other one is not long for this world if the other end has failed. You can do them both, and if you're doing one, I'd do the other one. No reason to avoid it.
Mine look cracked but have not started leaking yet. The minute one of them springs a leak I'll be doing all 4.
