What is the quietest aftermarket exhaust? And what other BMW model mufflers fit?

Car is a 1990 535i. Doesn't have to be quietest, just not obnoxiously loud.

My car came with a very loud muffler and the local muffler shop did not have anything that would fit. So he cut out the resonator and welded on an additional muffler, lol. It's still too loud and it's embarrassing.

I am finding very limited options for the E34. Would an E30 or E36 muffler fit? And if I do find a replacement muffler, should I also address that now additional muffler? Thanks.

Also, thoughts on eBay/Amazon mufflers? They are cheap, but I feel like they will still be pretty loud. Something like this for example.

So if you want quiet, why not a stock muffler? I have a NOS, unmounted original one for a 535i. I never ended up using it and it is sitting in my attic.
