    E34 HID xenon

    Hello everyone
So my e34 headlights are so poor i can bearly see in the night on low beams, i should turn on the high beams always. Yesterday i went to a shop and installed xenon bulbs with ballasts i though that maybe they can be better but it's the same... what can i do? And sometimes i get dip beam on the dash not always. So is there any way to improve those headlights?

How are the reflectors/lenses of the low beams? You can clean them. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...Glass-Cleaning

I changed 15 years ago to HID low beams from H1 bulbs, here the differences before and after http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/t...iginal/hid.jpg
Ballasts often do not work, you can modify the LKM https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...erior-Lighting

I drove the car tonight, it's 30% better than before but not the good, i still can't drive without high beams on i think my headlights need to be cleaned from the inside. My fog lights are way more better, i installed them 4 years ago (my car didn't have frimt fog lights from the factory but it's pre wired, it was plug and play with the switch too) i got the lenses and the glasses like 99% brand new and they light way more than the headlights that i cam bearly see

Check that they are aimed correctly also, otherwise it may be time to either clean like Shogun suggests, or replace your low beam lens units.

BTW I attempted the denture cleaner technique and it didn't remove the milky residue completely from my lens, I ended up using distilled water with torn up paper towel inside, then shook it around until it wiped the inside of the glass enough. Be careful, you don't want to be too abrasive as the reflector material is very fragile.

I replaced the worn out projectors on mine and they now have excellent light output.
