So long story short I bought my z3 from my neighbor. It was running fine before he let it sit a few months. I suspected the problem was a bad sending unit, as I was getting voltage to the fuel pump before I ordered a new one, but no fuel level reading and it would crank but no start...
After installing a new sender and pump now the connector to the pump reads no voltage with key on or cranking.
I have reset the immobilizer, had the battery on charger with 13v, checked fuel pump fuses. I've read I can check the relay with a fused jumper.
Are there any other things I can do to diagnose without throwing more parts at it? Lol
My current knowledge is connector to fuses, fuses to fuel relay, fuel relay to main relay, main relay to DME. I've only gotten as far as fuses since the afternoons here in Texas climb to 105° in the summer . I will be working on it more extensively this weekend. Any help is appreciated.
Have you checked for mice damage? They have have been going after some wires.
