Evening all,
Nubie here. Appreciate any help.
I just bought a 2010 328i Convertible. I spent so much time going over the car for mechanical condition and I didn't really give much thought to electronics, or stereo questions. Dumb, I know! But it's in such great condition I'll forgive myself. I've been to BMW USA and used the VIN to try and check specs and equipment but it's limited. I've gone through the manuals, but the cable provided for an iPhone is the old wide connector, not a lightning. So, I tried a USB cord from the iPhone to the USB port with no luck.
1. Supposedly it is prepped for satellite radio??
2. Will it support playing music from my iPhone through the USB port in the center console? How??
3. I like the original head unit and would like to keep it original. What options do I have for adding an interface for iPhone?
4. Bluetooth? I'm guessing not.?
I'll keep combing through the board, but any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
First, go to this website to see what’s in the car: https://www.mdecoder.com/. Also, try bimmer.work.
Next, go to www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of your car’s vehicle identification number. Hit enter and bookmark the page. Scroll down to audio to part #s for parts of the audio system.
The USB port may be defective as your iPhone should connect seamlessly with the audio system.
