I think 8.02v is the minimum recorded during starting cycle.
Can't tell what year your 420d is or how old is the battery.
Wouldn't hurt to put a charger on the battery overnight and repeat.
If car starts without struggling I wouldn't replace the battery.
My 435i (11/2014 build) original battery is 90 months old now and starts my car fine.

the 11.75 on scan tool was with engine off then the second picture is when i started engine up ...

My 420d is a 64 plate, thats just it , the car as been having a nightmare recently where some days it will start up no problem, drive for 20 minutes, switch engine off and it will not start up but leave it for 30 minutes , it starts up ..

More likely a failing starter. The solenoid is sticking

What does "will not start" mean?
Does it mean the starter will not spin the engine or does it mean the engine spins but won't start/run?
I suspect most Yank's don't know what a "64" plate is. Is that June 2014 or what?

Yes, as far as I know, only the UK uses the plate/year numbering system. It doesn't mean anything to anyone else.

If the starter was new and original BMW, then maybe I'd trust that it's not bad. But if any "rebuilt aftermarket" it can just as well be bad.

    +1

BTW 64 plate means the vehicle was registered between Sept 14 to Feb 15. That would put the battery around 7ish years old, which is getting long in the tooth.
