Euro spec E24–Ideas to mount US plates

Hi all, awaiting on delivery of a euro e24 (1981 if that makes a difference). Was looking for ideas to cleanly mount a us plate on the rear and front but with the placement of the trunk lock cylinder it looks tight. Anyone have any advice on products or methods to make it look good?

I don't know if it's different on an E12 chassis vs. the later E28 chassis, but my car has an L-shaped bracket for the plate.

I'll try to get a pic of it for you tomorrow.

I have an original one. Basically it is 3 pieces of sheet metal. The sides are bent into triangles with a lip bent into the front section for rigidity, that is flat in the back and has the angle in the front with a metal piece about 5" wide joining them on the front. The side pieces have holes drilled in them and are spaced to fit the euro plate holes in the license panel The front edge of the triangles are drilled for a US plate Several years ago someone had adjustable ones on Ebay. I didn't go that way as they had a fair amount of screws in it for adjustment purposes and I felt it was one more thing to worry about should the adjustments go loose. I will say they were pretty. Either polished aluminum or chromed. So if you are not inclined to fab something up, look on Ebay

On the front, I am assuming the holes are too far apart for a US plate. I went to HD and bought a 1/2 inch alum bar and made symmetric "Z" bends on each end.. Take a look here to see how to shape it or just buy one https://www.rogerstii.com/bmw-front-...3-0cs-bavaria/

Thanks for the ideas, met the car today and will likely need to fabricate something. She’s a beauty though even if with her finicky issues, like a radio that only gets power when hazards are on haha! Lots of fun ahead.

Nice find! Is that Ruby Red? I bent the rear plate on my Euro (Missouri just has the state bird at the base of the plate so nothing of value is being obscured). Front plate I used some spare brackets to narrow the spacing.

Damn, that's a nice looking car. Is it an E12 or E28 chassis? I'm guessing E12 since you mentioned an M90.

Good options too, like the style 5 wheels. They're a nice choice, are they the E39 version? Modern, but not too modern, if you get my drift.

This thread needs more pics, LOL.

At one point I was using a license plate mount made by Bell, it worked well.
