I've got an E36 that I built my own angle kit on - 3 inch extended control arms, cut knuckles with a jig - shortened the knuckle by about 3/4 inch on each side and running maybe 40% of stock ackermann. At or near full lock I've noticed that my wheel shakes like crazy, one of my friends with E46 control arms and knuckle adapters says he gets the same shake as well. Do you guys have this issue with SLR or Wisefab?
Happens at about 00:13 in the video:
(yes, my steering wheel is off center - my wheels themselves are fine though. Running 0.2 deg of total toe in on 215/40r17)
So I figured out that my inner tie rod ball joints are absolutely disintegrated - however I've only done about 3 events on them. Anybody else have issues with tie rod durability? I don't want to have to change them every event
tie rods - Moog HDs, anything else I've tried lasted 1-2 events, the Moogs last full seasons.
The shake is the end of your rack, you need a steering stop either on the rack or on the angle kit.
Yea I have SLR ultra and have been chasing the shake at/close to lock for a couple years. You figure anything out?
