On my 2006 E85 Z4M, I got three lights on the way home the other day in the rain after an alignment. Brake, tire press, and DCS. Scanner showed 5E40 Stearing-angle sensor: plausibility. The scanner I had would not let me reset. I have read about the INPA but would like direction of what to download, from where, and what cable I need.
I got the Foxwell nt510 elite for under 200 online and have used it multiple times since I got my 06 Z4 roadster a year ago. One thing I’ve learned from this car is the electronics are VERY temperamental and can usually be resolved with a reset. Same thing happened to me when I got an alignment and got the steering angle sensor fault. Reset after it was aligned and haven’t had an issue (with that code) since. INPA will help you with other diagnostics but overkill for this in my opinion.

INPA is free software and $20 in cables. It is the factory software, much better than any aftermarket scanner on the market
There is a download for the software here as well as a bunch of instructions and directions on how to use it: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...xperimentation

The "christmas tree" you experienced is probably not related to the alignment(imo)
