I have had my 2014 328d for 4 years now, i have put on 130k on it, ran flawlessly. done all the routine maintenance, however recently it went into a limp mode and threw up code. My friend, a professional mechanic, however not BMW certified, after scanning said that itÂ’s the dpf, boost side, egr, and the exhaust thatÂ’s giving me this headache and he thinks doing a delete would be the best course of action(but is also paranoid about doing it). I donÂ’t mind doing it, i just dont want it to give me long term issues. Im no professional, but my understanding is that deleting would actually improve itÂ’s reliability and efficiency (which id love, i dont care to add power) Any thoughts of which route i should go? Which tunes would be best bang for the buck?
The dpf is not a source of unreliability on these. It's usually a fault in normal running items (which would have to be fixed anyways) that cause loss of regen.
Please post codes and info, and I can advise better.
