Bluebus.

+1 Bluebus. Good luck finding one. They're so good/popular they can't keep up with demand.
I have one in my E39 and people with brand new cars comment their car doesn't do this as nicely: With it playing a song from the Apple Music Player and navigating via google maps or whatever it is Apple uses.. before it tells you to turn or some other direction, it gently fades the music volume, gentle pause, direction is given, fades the volume back up. I know other cars do this, the Bluebus just does it so nicely.. All the functions work this well. Extremely well thought out and even easier to install.
A great ending is all you'll see..

I'm ordering a BluBus for Sep delivery. So many random issues with the Avin and ***** and such. All I really want is hands free phone and audio streaming

Be aware: I upgraded to the latest noise cancelling mic, its a BMW part. Hands free seems to work at all speeds and people I'm talking to report good sound. But voice recognition when asking Siri to play songs from the Apple Music player, works great when stationary and at low speeds, but I have to repeat myself 2-3-4 times when at speed. Sometimes no matter how many times you try Siri is hearing something different than what you're saying. Same with the "go to" feature when using any of the navigation programs on the iphone. Its so easy to use the iphone directly I don't bother with the BMW Nav. Basically all I'm using the Bluebus for most of the itime is a BT connection from the iphone to the BMW Premium Hi Fi Sound System via the DSP.
I also find that the 12 speaker Premium Sound sounds dated when using AM/FM, better using Spotify or some such service, but really great if using the iphones Apple Music Player when playing music files I ripped from CD's I own. I own most of the music I care to listen to on CD's so after a few free trials of Spotify and Apple Music if I really like the music I just buy the CD. I don't have the 12 disk CD changer from BMW, but I'd imagine it sounds like when I play CD files via my iphone.
A great ending is all you'll see..

What about Grom ?
Looking for an E39 belly pan , passenger front inner fender liner …
I am replacing the GROM. Lots of noise when streaming audio. Phone works fine but the handoff isn't always good

Bluebus is worth the wait. I love mine.
there's a cheap bluetooth dongle that fleabay / amazon offers that plug directly into the aux input / connector behind the stock headunit, if your car had the aux cable pre-wiring from factory. Cheap <$20 option for bluetooth enabled. I tapped into the 12V from the glove box flashlight power, and GND anywhere. it sounds pretty good to me, no fancy features like bluebus though
The business CD player audio option might also have this aux input but not sure
I have a 5/2001 build with business CD and it has no Aux option. YMMV.
If you want OEM radio, works with prefacelift and facelift - check BlueMusic on German Amazon. I have installed several in my own cars. It uses the cd changer, and your cd player will also work as normal. Good audio quality. Works with plenty of models. The steering wheel buttons will work like normal and can be used to skip tracks, and you can press up to receive calls. It hooks up right behind the radio.

I see der BlauenMusiken doesn't work for DSP cars.
