I replaced the entire dash on my 335i because the original was beat up.
Here’s my issue. The replacement dash had a passenger air bag still attached so I plugged into it.
I got Passenger restraint error message that won’t go away!
I replaced with the original air bag but it’s still there.
Not just that but the message is on the infotainment screen and won’t go away!
I can’t even select radio it’s stuck on this message.
Help!
After putting stuff back together, any SRS system errors need to be actively cleared with a diagnostic interface made for BMWs. They do not go out on their own for airbag system.

The one that came with the dash could have been bad, and of course the codes won't clear on their own.

i can't recall now, did the various airbag recalls affect the e9x cars?
'95 325iS - auto to manual swap done!
Clear the codes with a BMW specific scan tool which can talk to all computers. Then read the codes again. Be aware that there's a whole bunch of airbag wiring in and around the dashboard. Did you plug in the airbag in the "A" pillar?
