99 M coupe looking for sunroof fix

Going racing with my 1999 M coupe. Originally purchased by an SCCA member with great mechanicals but repaint and poor interior. Decided to cage it and now looking for a solution for the sunroof. Fall Line did the cage and is continuing to do further work. They have been unable to source a sunroof delete roof from z3 or Mcoupe so solution is to purchase back of roof, flip it and fill in areas with sheet metal as needed. Is anyone aware of a source for a Z3 delete roof? Any other thoughts on a solution? Fall Line is doing a fantastic job, but wanted to throw this out to the crowd.

    Much appreciated.

I assume you have a glass sunroof cartridge. I think all the cartridge's, glass or metal, are the same size so get a metal cassette and you can "unroll" the outer sheet metal. That extends the outer edges enough so you can then stitch weld it over the hole. Did it on my race car and you can't see that it was covered since it has the shape of the roof built in. The "flipped" method would worry me because the shape is different on the back of the roof versus the front.

The sunroof for the Z3 coupe is unique, it's not a cartridge like the 3 series (it doesn't retract, it only tilts) and there isn't a "metal" version aside from the factory slicktop.

There were some guys on FB running a group buy for carbon roof panels, you might hit them up.
