Can't wait to replace my 15-year old Magnaflows with these Italian pipes!

    Can't wait!
Installed an x-pipe way back in the day when I the did magnaflows - although I'll have to double check the rest of the system to see how it was done. (that was a LONG time ago...)

query: what the heck is this pipe? Is it needed or can it be cut off/plugged?

They are how they mount in the 599. A vibration damper connects that to the body.

You can see it better in the parts manual here:

and in real life on a used set here:

Cool - sounds like they could be removed then - especially if they get in the way of mounting in our cars

I’m interested to hear how you’ll be connecting those vacuum operated butterflies in the inboard pipes - are you going to use one of the spare outputs on the PCV?

Actually going to leave 'em open. The posts I've read here indicate that both outputs are open by default - will give it go this way first.

Yea I would leave them open. You can sell the little vacuum controllers separately for a decent bit of pocket change. (100-150$)

If you both don’t mind, please share your install. It’s not as straightforward as some other setups and would be invaluable for others contemplating the upgrade.

    Thanks
