Short and sweet -
I've had a couple of shops and have raced. Never was a fan of repairing bimmers as they are tedious to work on but mostly, I don't understand the thinking behind why they design their cars as they do. We were happy to see a bimmer or Merc pull up because we knew the labor would be astronomical. Audis we tried to avoid and Saabs we turned the sign over to read "closed."
That was 30 years ago. Things have changed but not the weird (to me) thinking about why the engineers design these cars the way they do. Ah, well. So, I acquired a 2020 M550i xdrive in what so far is very good condition. My racing background has my fingers itching to get on that plant and start squeezing until I reach 650 HP or so. But it's still under warranty. I will let you know when I decide the hell with it and start adding fire to it.
So, that my short introduction, my questions are:
~ I love splash guards/mud flaps on my cars. As well as protecting the wheel well finish they look cool. Any idea where I can get some for my car. I see some on ebay but for $70? Come on. Car is Alpine White.
~ Is there any way to display the time elapsed once the car is started? Ever other car I've had had a separate clock that indicated how long you'd been driving. Or technically how long the engine had been running. Many had little alarms that sounded at 2 hour intervals to remind you to take a break. I can find nothing on this maddening vehicle that is similar.
Thanks in advance and glad to be here.
Did you ever get any answers?
Did the OP tune the car? I have the F90 cousin with a BM3 stage 2 for 93 OTS tune plus a JB4 controlling water/meth and adding 5 more psi. Woke it up noticeably.
I spoke with a guy down the street from me who does a bit of BMW racing. He likes the Sprint Booster. He has one on all of his vehicles including his 7 series Alpina.
I think that is just a drive by wire throttle sensitivity adjuster that does not actually add any power.
