On cold startup 2008 335XI , the radiator fans randomly run at full speed, and do Not turn off or modulate back down to a normal RPM automatically. They will run at full speed until the car is turned off again, not even allowing the car to reach operational temperature.
I can easily hear them running at full speed, and never hear them ever run that fast even when pushing the car up steep hills towing on a Hot day!
If I hear the fans running at full speed I can turn the car off and then back on and everything is just fine until it randomly happens again.
Is this a known symptom of a bad sensor or some other known issue?
Is this possibly something that can be fixed DIY?
Might there be a thread covering and detailing this issue?
Would it show up on error codes? Is there a way to see these codes on iOS easily with a popular app and hardware that is for casual use?

I’m having the same issue with my 2004 330xi. Did you ever find the cause?
