Lightbulb NY/NJ/CT Area -- Recommended body shops/paint shops?

    Hello,

I'm looking for recommendations for trusted body/paint shops.

The following work needs to be done on my e39 540i:

    • Body panel repair - rear tail panel (between trunk lid and rear bumper)
    • Paint
      • Rear trunk lid (Replacement, OEM
      • Rear bumper (Existing, OEM)
      • Front bumper (Replacement, aftermarket)
      • Hood (Replacement, OEM)

I've shopped around to a few places I know of in the Hudson Valley NY, but the ones I trust are typically focused on insurance settlement jobs direct, not private customers.

I'm based in Brooklyn, so I'd welcome something local, but willing to travel 50+ miles for the right shop that can work with me.

I would install all the new parts myself, first, to avoid concerns about fitment/compatibility.

If you are interested in coming to northern NJ, I have used Pace Collision in Bernardsville, NJ for 3 different cars. Family owned, in business for decades, quality work. Just had the rear bumper and spoiler repaired and painted on my 996. Dave runs the shop, he's a good guy and likes working with older cars to keep them on the road rather than just cashing insurance checks.

That's the type of recommendation I'm looking for! Thank you.
