Just Ordered Some Maxilite Alpina Reps, Need advice On Tire Sizes

    http://greggearhead.com/store/p52/Ma...and_18%22.html

(edit: beware of this seller. After placing the order, I looked him up on yelp and google. It seems as though he has a bad habit of taking people's money and ghosting them. I reached out to him about some shipping eta's and am waiting to hear back from him. Going by the reviews I've read, I'm not too optimistic though)

    18x9 Front
    18x10.5 Rear

I just need to go 1" wider than the staggered set of 18" Mpars (8" front & 9.5" rear) that I'm running now. My current tire dimensions are

    235/50/18 Front
    255/45/18 Rear

    Thanks in advance

Looks like the best option but I can't find any michelins or contis in 255/45/18. Any alternative size ideas?

    Hi,

** EDIT ** I take that back ! didn't see the reference to TUV in this case - the vast majority of 'replicas' aren't good quality.

Use a tyre size calculator to see which tyres you can put onto a 9 and 10.5 inch wheel that also keeps to within +/- 3% of the OEM rolling radius. Then look for tyre brands that make/sell those sizes. If you find a preferred brand doesn't make them, you'll perhaps need to compromise down to budget tyre brands if any of they make them.

    Cheers, Dennis!

Hey, it's the "offers unsolicited opinions before answering the question" guy. Glad to see that you're still around. These particular rims are actually TUV approved, but thanks for your input. I’ve tried those calculators before, but i just dont trust myself pairing the front and back sizes properly

edit: Sizing down the widths on front and back from the first guy that replied seems to opened up my options while still staying within spec according to my tire guy. Going to go with 255/45/18 & 275/40/18

Have your wheels arrived yet? I was going to ask about the quality and how the centre cap attaches?

Maxlite rims are of very high quality. as stated they are TUV-approved, these are not your run-of-the-mill replicas. They are big in the Porsche community as well.

As for wheel size 255/45/18 & 275/40/18 is where I would go, 285 in the back would be perfect but there are not many options in that size.
