    Stupid Question of the Day.....

Can an LS be installed from under the car in an E36?

Obviously the cross member and probably most of the suspension would have to be removed..

Just wondering if anybody has done it?

I don't see why not. I assume you have a lift if you are asking otherwise it would be quite a bit of work going in from the bottom on jack stands. I got my LS1 and T56 from a donor Camaro and removed it out the bottom without a lift and it was doable but not ideal. Dropping an LS1 mated to a Camaro t56 in from the top is doable with the Sikky swap oil pan and the hood and/or front bumper/nose panel removed. I can easily drop just the LS in with the hood on and the nose panel and bumper in place, but YMMV.
