Cruise Control Bowden Cable - Any Leads?

In my ongoing quest to get my cruise control functional I've learned I need a new Cruise Control Bowden Cable - p/n 65711371162

This is NLA and I'm not finding any stock online. Anyone know of any NOS inventory remaining or a compatible part? Thanks in advance.

I need one too, LMK if you find anything. They're easily replaced, but the E24 had the longest one in that entire generation. It's a preposterously long cable!

I was thinking a local bike shop could also be a good choice for repair, they must do custom bowden cables all day long.

I didn't do Facebook until I needed a part only he had.
I'll reach out to him and ask if there are other ways to
    get in touch.

Desktop Dave is right. if its the inner cable that's bad, a 6pack of ale and $30 should get it replaced at any decent independent bike shop. if it's the housing as well, maybe a bit more. take the cable in so they can match the ends. As long as the actuator end fitting is ok, it should be simple. the actuator end is the key, the engine end is easy. ($30 for the parts, ale for good will, there may be a next time for something

Does anyone know the correct length of the cruise cable? If I was to have one made at a bicycle store I wouldn't know how long to request as mine frayed off long ago. Thank you.

I just took a rough measure of mine. It's an original 1985 OEM BMW part installed in my '86.

The total cruise cable length is ~32" installed, from the flange of the cruise actuator to the very end of the threaded adjuster crimped onto the cable. I didn't measure the interior part of the actuator retainer piece because the actuator strap buckle protrudes about 1.5" from the actuator into the retainer. Out of that 32" total, the threaded cable adjuster on the TB end is approx. 4.5" (from cable crimp to end of the all-thread). So I'd estimate the actual internal cable length to be 26" (32" - 4.5" adjuster - 1.5" actuator strap & clip).

Hopefully this will get you in the ballpark...sorry it isn't more precise. It's pretty tight down there, I used a pretty sloppy yardstick estimation taken off a bent coat hangar.

Lapis, it looks like you found a solution for your cables! Just in case, I saw some Bowden cables on eBay, not sure if they are what you need but just a heads up. Good luck!

Can you provide a link? Usually it's just sellers of E30 and E28 cables, that are different lengths that I've seen.

I went back and saw that the ones on eBay are throttle cables not cruise cables. Not sure if they are interchangeable. Sorry about that.
