Like so many of these ads begin, I thought I’d never see the day…

As you probably know about M Coupes, despite their allure, from the factory the driving position is uncomfortable, the moonroof and subframe are ticking time bombs, the stereo is awful, the interior creaks and rattles, the suspension is squishy and is not adjustable.

When completed correctly as I have done, the OEM+ upgrades and fixes for these issues are invisible even to the most trained eye.

Just as importantly, BMW also got a lot right, which I have preserved unaltered including the timeless analog dash and console, the stock Roadstar wheels (I had more modern, sportier wheels on it for most of my ownership but you can’t really beat the Roadstars), the headlights (the community agrees no available aftermarket units look quite right).

Interior: stealth $3k stereo that looks 100% factory with CD43 head unit. (Custom 1 of 7 sub box engineered for dual JL Audio 6W3v3-4 subs by Robb from bimmerforums. Alpine 5 channel amp. Focal components in kick panel and tweeter in door panel. GROM BT3 Bluetooth module). Bulletproof billet aluminum sunroof sliders. No rattles or creaks, foam and dynamat placed behind plastic panels, no broken or missing fastener clips. Glove box anti-sag plate. Seat tilt mod for comfort and headroom. Stealth access ports to rear shock rebound adjusters. 35% window tint front and rear. Sun visor label delete. Brand new driver and passenger BMW floor mats. Custom-cut BavAuto honeycomb all season floor mats. New window sliders installed with lithium grease this past winter.

Exterior: LED third brake light and side markers. Smoked front corner markers. Motion Motorsports aluminum front underpanel. I ponied up for a full repaint following a fender bender in 2015 to fix various small blemishes that had accumulated under the previous owners. Freshly repainted front fascia to remove rock chips make sthis car a 10 out of 10. Freshly refinished Roadstar Style 40 wheels in correct Shadow Chrome color for the S54.

Powertrain: spark plugs, air filter, Constant Pressure Valve, valve adjustment service at 100k miles. Oil change every 5k miles. Stock brake calipers rebuilt with bimmerworld stainless steel pistons and fresh guide bolts. Pads and rotors are about 15k miles old. Under my ownership, engine has never revved past 4k RPM without oil gauge showing full temperature. Stock exhaust system is the perfect loudness and passes emissions testing in IL.

Chassis: TC Klein DA coilovers and adjustable camber plates in front, TC Klein spring adjusters and springs in rear. 300# front and 700# rear spring rates. Adjustable front sway bar end links, new rear end links. Dinan subframe reinforcement kit installed when this car was very young, no spot weld issues whatsoever. Reinforced polyurethane rear shock mounts. UHMW Delrin bushings in front control arms and rear subframe from Condor Speed Shop to keep things tight. Weld-in rear subframe camber + toe adjusters with fresh rubber bushings to keep things quiet.

Extras: hardcover Bentley repair manual. Thule 753 rack and 38" 871xt fairing. 2x Rock N Road bicycle carriers. Magnetic stone spats. Custom rebound adjustment tool for coilovers. Extra TC Kline springs. Assortment of new spare interior clips and fasteners.

Square set of 17x9” APEX ARC-8 wheels in Anthracite gray. Four 255 /40 R17 Bridgestone RE-71R tires with 1 track day, 6 autocross runs, about 200 road miles.

Sad to see it listed, but glad to hear at least three of the 7 sub boxes in existence are currently in use. Did you decide not to install the subtle "not Harman/Kardon" badge to keep it even more stealth install??

I accidentally cracked the badge you made while it was sitting on the workbench during install time.

The stereo is amazing. I think it changes the character of the car just as much as upgrading the suspension or something like that. Makes it feel like a modern, luxury car again.
