Brand new M440I that I picked up a few weeks ago. Annoying rattle/vibration coming from dashboard.
Brought into dealer to diagnose issue. They said they drove the car and couldn’t duplicate the issue I was having. Give me a break! They just didnt want to take the time to take the dash apart.
Have had five bimmers and never this. Sounds like an American car from the eighties.
Anyone have any ideas how to proceed?
Live with the annoyance for the three year lease, or pursue getting satisfaction ?
Video with audio to document the defect, then return and play it. Good luck

good idea with video also i imagine there is more than one dealer in your area if this service dept cant hear what you hear. i suspect if you have 70g for a car you are smart enough to know these two solutions already but i hope you feel better getting it off your chest today.
Nope. Don’t feel any better!
know it sounds too easy but remove everything in the glove box, console, back area, etc - dealer will make you do that as a first step - it does sometimes catch what is rattling - good luck with it!
Take the car back to the dealer.
I don’t have a rattle in my ‘22 330i, but the car does creak from the back seat or door area somewhere when going over a curb or speed bump at an angle, causing the body to flex. My F30 ‘18 320i didn’t do that.
