Hi
I have already the E21 316 5 speed which is a fabulous car to drive. I have now just bought in Australia a RHD 1981 Alpina C1 that has a dashboard plaque, Alpina engine bay plate as well as the usual items - wheels, decals, spoilers, badges etc. It also has an Australian compliance plate dated 3/81. According to the service book - delivery pre-inspection at BMW Munich in 5/81, then serviced in UK until mid 1983. The next service stamp is at Canberra Australia on 1/84. The owner, I suspect, was an Australian living in UK for a period of time but ordered the car with Australian compliance so as to import the car easily as he was moving back after completing secondment to UK. The original owner, i believe, was a Capt WB Atkinson based at Dorset signal baracks.
VIN Nbr: WBAAH3205B7252958
Engine Nbr 7252958
Sytner and BMW UK were no help on history.
I have written (and filled in their form - happy to pay 85 euros) to classic Alpina for any history they may have, but no response as yet.
I would happily share some pictures, but the whole "Flickr" thing defeats me.
I an happy to send to someone and they can post?
or look here:

Any assistance with history appreciated.

PS Thinking of the all the Ukraine people.
You can also check with BMW for a Vehicle Certificate to see if they any info on where the car was sent: https://www.bmwgroup-classic.com/en/...ic-center.html

Nice looking car!! I bet it sounds pretty SWEET.
What's with the rear seat belts in that photo okieflats posted? Is that what those hooks are for?
It looks like the rear passengers get shoulder belts too.
And they get held up out of the way for ingress/egress by hanging them up onto the coat hanger hooks.
Great looking car. Congratulations on your new purchase.
I have a question...here is a picture of the riveted plaque in the engine bay it says "C1/ 1 - 2.3" which is the same as the dash plaque. Q. Is this what they did in 1981? IMG_0936.jpgDashboardPlaque.jpg
A better picture of the plaque reads "C1/1-2..3". Any insight into why the plaque done like this in 1981? I am guessing it was done by the UK dealer at the time. Enginebayplaque.jpg
She's a beauty. Congratulations.
The car looks very nice, but I dont think its a C1. Looks like a nice RHD 323. There are so many C1 specific items missing on the car, and the badges are incorrect. The engine bay plaque could be purchased on ebay and is not stamped with the correct font. The decal mounted above the glovebox is incorrect. To be honest, Im not sure Alpina even produced a RHD C1. Its missing the Alpina interior, the Alpina mufflers, the long range tank, the steering wheel is incorrect and the color of the decko kit is incorrect. All the "Alpina" parts on this car look like the fake things sold on Ebay. That being said, if you didnt pay a premium for it as a C1, its a nicely equipped car.
