Is MCS an individual option on the 5 series or included in any other package? Does the entire seat feel different or only the upper head area? Any difference in seat height or general feel and how is the bolstering compared to a sport seat?
Thanks
I believe MCS are stand-alone or included in certain packages. Don't know about the sport seats, but our 1st 535 (a 2012) had the base seats and 2nd had the MCS. I will NEVER own another BMW without the MCS. Once adjusted to one's liking, their comfort can't be beat.
The thing to look into with the multi-contour seats is if you also option ventilation and/or massaging features.
Some owners that get the fully optioned MCS w/vent & massage complain that the seats are too firm for their tastes. So if you’re going to order the MCS with the mechanical extras…you may want to test a model with them so you can judge for yourself if they fit your personal preference.
The MCS with the mechanical extras have stiffer padding so that you don’t eventually feel the fans and massaging bubbles and pads that create these extra features. Thus the seats are firmer…which leads to some of the complaints.
