Did you flip the two latches on the top sides ? Are the ducts still connected on top? more photos please, use a bright light so they'll be clear.

definitely need to detach the a/c lines.

Do you need the center piece for the console? I have one and the A/C switch works. Missing the lighter and ashtray but I may be able to find the ashtray. The lighter was donated to another car years ago

Not sure yet, but thanks for the offer. Will let you know once I start actually collecting pieces.

I was hoping those 2 pipes would just pull back through the firewall, remove the AC unit with those two tubes that extend into the engine bay still attached to it. But apparently not. So I got to reach around under the dash there and disconnect them? How's that? Is there a rubber coupling with hose clamps that need to be undone?

I will not even be looking at it again until my next day off at least. I am working this next few days.

It's all removed now. There was an upper piece of plastic duct that had a couple of over-center metal clips holding it. Came off easy once I saw them.

That curved 3-prong connector in the second picture is the one that came off the back of the control knob, the AC temp control.

Sweet, appreciate the time you spent yanking out the components. Sending Email…

It got shipped. FedEx. The a-holes charged me $50 and refused to give me my discount for having an account with them for some BS reason. They saw I had an account with them. Gave me some BS about it being "flagged." So I should have got at least a 10% discount but instead I got nothing. FedEx had been a little cheaper than the Post Office for me, haven't shipped anything recently though. The Post office has raised their prices so much they probably would have charged $50 too anyway. But I'm not sure about that. The box was kinda big. Not too heavy though.

Can anyone give me location/dimension on where to drill holes in firewall for refrigerant pipes to pass through? Photos, etc.

Also could use the condensate hole (through trans tunnel) location, but I could probably figure this one out by dry fitting the console.

The tubes I included in the box will give you an idea where the holes go, or I can get a measurement. I can also measure the condensate hole, but there needs to be a good reference point to measure from. Maybe the front edge of the hole for the parking brake, to the center of the condensate hole.

I chopped the tubes off under the hood, in the engine compartment. Pulled them back through into the passenger compartment. Then after removing it all, I then unscrewed them. So if you screw them back into place, you will have tubes long enough that they would extend through the firewall if there were holes. So you can work with that. I might have time to measure tomorrow, but I am busy, have some pressing issues.

Thanks, that would be very helpful. Yes, a measure to any reference hole, even the trans shift lever hole front edge.
