Front Brakes and Rotors, plus sensors ... Where should I purchase the parts? I have not priced out the dealer, however the mechanic is reasonable. BMW would charge about 4X the amount. From my old 7 series, I have ordered after market parts and the pads were great, but they always squeaked ... Thank you.
I am planning to go with zimmerman kits from fcpeuro
My suggestion is to use one of the online part databases sites like www.realoem.com or www.bimmercat.com where you can enter the last 7 digits of your VIN to pull up diagrams specific to your model/model yr/build date. Once you have the correct 11 digit BMW part number for your car…you can simply type BMW xx xx x xxx xxx (where x=the actual part nbrs) into a google/internet search box…where you should get multiple results of vendors that sell that part. You can also do the same on sites like eBay or amazon.com.
Then there’s also the BMW value service website. Many dealerships offer value services that you can look up in advance and shop around (if there are multiple BMW dealerships in your area). The price and number of value service offers vary from dealership to dealership…but you may find that you can get the work done by your local BMW dealership at reasonable cost…without having to shop around for aftermarket parts and doing your self or finding an INDY etc.

Pretty helpful post above. Anything OE is pretty good and in that, Zimmerman tends to give good value for dollar and offer a wide variety of products. I drive an M550d and trust realoem to be accurate. Recently I just did new ATE ceramic pads and Zimmerman rotors front and rear. I am not sure of the configuration of your car specifically (which is why realoem is so clutch), but the front left and front right rotors are directional and thus two different part numbers. Also, just about all modern BMW's with pad wear sensors only have two: Front Left and Rear Right. Frankly, if the sensor is not triggered and you're getting a pad wear warning there really is no need to spend another $25-$50 on a new sensor.
