So I have a BMW 325 I’ve had for about a year now my buddy crashed his car so I let him borrow my e30 for a couple days he let battery die so we jumped it drove it to my house not even 5 minutes away shut it off and it hasn’t started back up since. I’ve replaced CPS, coil, spark plugs, and checked cap and rotor for corrosion still no start. I just learned today after replacing battery that it cranks with jumper cables but not from battery power. Please help I feel like it’s a ground issue but I don’t know where to check
so you hooked the jumpers to the battery and it starts but when you just turn the key, it doesn't crank the engine over?
or are you hooking the jumper cables to the connections under the hood?
i ask because there is a connection, called a fusible link, in the trunk that gets burned sometimes when people jump cars. its under the trunk carpet on the right side in the plastic that the battery cable is covered with that runs along the wheel well and the trunk floor, if i remember right. that part getting burned will cause the issue you are saying
No e30s again.
