Hello,
I recently purchased my 2014 BMW 535i xDrive and have no experience with BMW's. I am currently trying to fix my trunks lift motor and it is presenting some issues and some confusion.
The dealership near me states that I should have part numbers 51247207009 for the drivers side and 51247207010 for the passengers side as I have the comfort access. After removing the trunk liner and removing the installed part, it doesn't look like the part I ordered (51247207009). Upon inspection, the installed part number I have is 51247373438 for the drivers side and the right side appears to be just a spring. I ordered 51247373438, but then I spoke with the dealership this morning, that's when I found out what my car should have based on the VIN. I have canceled the order.
I don't know what the history of the car is or if someone had attempted a repair with another kit... But I'm reluctant to purchase parts to repair it that I may have issues returning for a refund.
Do these cars often have parts in them that don't align with what BMW has listed? I'm not sure what parts to put in or if they will both work after initialization and calibration. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Best Regards,
Tom
I have replaced the left spindle drive with one that I received and replaced the right side spring with the spindle drive I purchased. Both spindle drives are used and were sold as working, but I can't confirm.
After I got both spindles in, I'm unable to manually close the trunk lid. It's like they are holding it in place. With just the right side I was able to manually lift the trunk, but it wasn't strong enough to support the trunk lid open.
Currently attempting to get ista installed on my laptop that has an ethernet plug to use my enet cable.
I did try pulling each of the 3 fuses labeled as for the trunk, no changes in behavior noted. Any ideas what's going on?
