So I have this 1994 318i m42b18 I’ve swapped out the water pulley , and radiator and it’s still overheating. I checked for milky oil and smoke out the exhaust but there’s nothing , so I went and replaced the thermostat today and it still overheated I bled the system of air and it still went over , I don’t have a fan shroud since it broke , I don’t know what’s going on man , I’m guessing it’s either the fan shroud or a blown gasket I need help man let me know guys
Do a compression test, remove all the spark plugs and disable the fuel pump. If one or more cylinders are low then you need a head gasket. The head needs to be professionally checked for cracks and decked. If you don't do that the job will fail.
