I have a 3 spoke sport steering wheel with the SRS AIRBAG emboss and the small red light (It only displays the light on my steering wheel and not on the cluster itself). How do I clear the little light? Would the method be similar to the one used for when resetting inspection/oil service lights on instrument cluster? I've had this problem for half a year and finally want to do something about it
SRS Light on your steering wheel? Can you post a pic? Never seen.
You can try this, but that only works on early SRS modules and the timing is very important https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-Special-Tools!!!

image uploading is really finicky. sorry for orientation, but the red light "AIR BAG" is clearly visible
never seen such a airbag light in a steering wheel. Do you have a special shop nearby which can read airbag faults on this old system? That would be the easiest, but difficult to find. Newer SRS fault code tools like the cheap B800 from China do not work on E32, only on newer modules >1994.
Otherwise you have to test and check, maybe the clock spring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMJ8sgONhRY&t=3s
disconnect the battery before you start removing the steering wheel, otherwise the SRS light goes on.
You could also try this SRS reset https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-Special-Tools!!!
This only works With SIEMENS 5WK4 027 (65771382905) modules

I will give that 5 second method a shot. I have doubts it will work, but might as well try. I am questioning why the light appears on the wheel but not on the cluster itself try to resolve myself, don't want to pay $$$. It could also very well possibly be the clock spring because my horn sometimes works and sometimes doesn't like moving or stopped and the horn has to pass the clock spring, both my horn and and airbag light are not consistent. Airbag light on steering wheel flickers a lot when turning, perhaps just a bad connection
