Gents, 01 530. The problem is that the air flow only comes out from one side of the vent. Left side only on the center dashboard and my fan is weak. I’ve already replaced the resistor, no help. Do I need to pull the dashboard to check the linkage behind the grill. Please help. Thank you
Please Please!!!! Does anyone have the same problem. I just need to know before I start taking my dashboard apart. Again I have a new fan regulator from FCP Euro and the vent is still weak and it’s coming stronger from the driver’s side. Please reply. Thank you
Have you tried manual mode by selecting center vents?

Dumb questions, but I'll ask anyway and give it a try.
The wheel that opens and closes that particular vent is open and feels like it works? How about the wheel with the blue and red dots on it, is it adjusted to full blue? Things can get cranky in there when it's turned to red and mostly shut off airflow instead of changing the temp thru the blend doors. Also try turning the temp to full cold and see what happens.

I have replaced the fan in an e39..not fun, but not too bad either...
I thought the usual failure mode for a bad fan is that it stops working entirely..at least that's how mine failed. I also believe you can test by putting 12v at the connector near the FSU.
Lack of air flow on one side could mean one of your door actuators is not working.
No easy solution here..
I only remember that this symptom relates to low refrigerant.
