Driver side cables are broken I’m assuming. Won’t slide back, won’t go up. Sunroof panel is rusted and I’d like to swap it out and fix whatever is broken.
The most likely failure has to do with the internal drip rail at the rear of the panel. #12 is the drip rail and it's moved with #9 arms on the left and right sides. If one of those break, the drip rail can get jammed causing the whole panel problems. You may be able to inspect it by removing the door opening edge trim, peeling the headliner where it's glued and taking a peek.

There’s a lot going on but this picture is helpful. I’m gonna have to figure out part numbers for everything, there is a decent amount of broken stuff but the cars roof is solid so that’s good.
Having trouble finding everything I need. Both guides need to be replaced, the frame is rusted out along with the arms that connected to it. Front arms that press the wind deflector down are broken, and a few more things that I can’t really figure out with the pictures. I don’t plan on having a headliner in this car so do I actually need to replace the lower frame? Just want the sunroof to be functional.
I have some random sunroof parts...idk what they are or where they go, but I want em gone haha! I'll post a pic in a minute. Let me know if you could use any of it.

Otherwise you can go my route and they sell fiberglass panels to throw in place of the sunroof ha.
I’ll get some pictures of everything that’s broken and post them
i peeled everything i could out of a wreck. sunroofs are one of the worst things to work on. i don't even know what's wrong on mine. i just grabbed every single thing off the wreck including the lid and figured i'd sort it later
If not familiar with it already: check out https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sel...e=1&series=E30 for part numbers.
