    Welcome To The Future Of BMW Conversions

    WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF BMW CONVERSIONS

    In the BMW world there are a number of highly recommended European workshops and backyard individuals who perform high quality work both in Australia and around the world. All these people are a great asset to the overall BMW community whom we hold great respect and admiration for.

    At Atomic Racing we are looking to differentiate ourselves by focusing on the latest and greatest engine and transmission technology produced by BMW while still utilizing the original BMW computers and software to operate them. This is especially difficult and for most people impossible, however were lucky enough to have access to a fellow enthusiast right here in Australia who’s background is in software and thrives on supporting and developing the BMW community. He already assists individuals and workshops all over the world in both commercial and non-commercial capacities on a daily basis and has done so for many years.

    Modern BMW engines and transmission are super complicated with tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars invested in software alone, this is something no aftermarket computers can match in quality or driving experience.

    The BMW E30, E36, E46 and E9X chassis are considered by many as being timeless so for the first time we are proud to be able to offer the following packages to suite all chassis. All options are available In 5 and 6 speed manual, Double Clutch DCT and 6HP Auto as well as 8HP Auto.

    - N52 and N52N, 3 Litre inline 6 produced from around 2005-2017 in the F series models. This engine produces 200KW 268hp 315NM in stock trim. In this spectacular E36 with our customized exhaust and intake manifold along with the extra valve lift kit and customized tune prod[IMG]www.atomicracing.com.au[/IMG]uces in excess of 232KW 310HP 350NM which brings it within S54 territory in a much smother, more reliable and cost-effective package. With some additional tricks up our sleeve we anticipate being able to surpass the S54 power levels even with the lower displacement 3L engine. The pictured E36 will be racing in the improved production category and we wish car and driver all the best for next season.

    - S65 V8 M3 Engine from the E9X produced from 2007-2013 stock produced 309KW 414HP 400NM, with our tune and exclusive custom made bolt on parts you can expect to see 440HP and 430NM. These engines are for the V8 lovers with 8300 RPM stock limit and an exhaust note like no other coupled to a lightweight E30, E36 or E46 running factory BMW software and a DCT transmission makes for something super special. We have a customer who’s E46 M3 engine has failed and is going with the V8 S65 DCT solution as an alternative to rebuild which presents better value and a hugely improved final product.

    - N54 Twin Turbo 3 Litre Inline Six from the 135/335/Z4/1M produced from 2006-2016 is by a country mile the most underrated engine ever produced by BMW making 225KW 301HP and 450NM in stock trim. The BMW engine factory released these beasts with forged crankshaft and rods as standard and with our custom developed bolt on parts and tune these monsters can easily and reliably produce 450KW 600HP 700NM on a standard engine all day every day. Of course there are many people producing far higher numbers than this all over the world but not too many in the E30, E36 or E46 chassis and probably none RHD. This is now possible on all E series platforms with any gearbox combination and further increased engine power with additional internal modification for people looking for higher power gains again. We are currently building an E36 example for customers to test drive and experience.

    - S55 Twin Turbo 3 Litre Inline Six from the F Series M4, M3 and M2 Competition produced from 2015-2021 has at the time of writing the most power ever extracted from a factory configuration BMW engine in the region on 1100-1200 HP from various sources. At its height in the M4 GTS the S55 incredibly produces 368KW 493HP 600NM due to its super strong internal components and fully closed deck design. With our custom-made bolt on parts and further tuning power levels can easily and reliably rise to 550KW 737HP and 800NM without breaking a sweat. For cheap insurance we always recommend the crank hub be secured with one of the many great existing products already developed and well tested. The S55 truly stands alone and is a masterpiece of engineering excellence. This can now be fitted to any any E30, E36, E46 or E9X platforms with any gearbox combination to suit the driver. These conversions will include the Electronic steering and electronically assisted LSD setup from the M4/M3/M2C factory cars to take full advantage of the overall driving experience originally developed by BMW. No aftermarket computers are used.

    - N55 Single Turbo, S63 V8 Twin Turbo, B58 Single Turbo and S58 Twin Turbo solutions are all also 100% possible in the same original BMW manner. Were currently looking for customers to take advantage of these not yet developed products, save significant money and work with us to help develop them. We would love to explore and develop 4WD options across all E30, E36, E46 and E9X BMW platforms utilizing all the different engine/transmission combinations to suit different customer needs and budgets. The best part of all is we can do this with original BMW components, computers, software which ensures the very best final product and driving experience.

    Conclusion:

    In my personal vehicle a BMW E90 sedan I fitted and developed my own LS V8 supercharged setup. Of course this has been successfully well done and documented by many others many times over long before me. I have since decided that I will be converting it to an S55 DCT setup not because an LS doesn't belong in a BMW but because the S55 is simply breathtaking modern technology which will take the experience to a whole new level and if were honest cannot be compared in any way. If you’re a V8 personal then the S65 DCT is absolutely ideal.

    While engines like the M54B30, S54B32, LS V8 are all special in their own ways, technology has moved on and the simple fact is there are far better, cheaper, more economic, more reliable, hugely more powerful and most importantly of all a whole lot better to drive options now available. If you have an E30, E36, E46 or E9X previously converted with one of these setups it can be significantly more cost effective to remove it as some of the required work has already been done.

    How are you planning to control all these engines? Do you have a way to make reliable CAS delete or are you using trimmed but complete body harnesses or standalone ECUs?
