No more gesture control in the 2022 M4?

Hello all, first post, first BMW,
I ordered a '22 M4 Comp Cabrio, projected delivery was November but delayed until January. Based on the options selected it should have included gesture control but the dealer just reached out and said BMW deleted the feature. I tried it briefly on the test drives and do not think I care, but I do find it frustrating. Nothing I can do about it, but will I miss it?

    Thank you

don't think you'd miss it. It is more a gimmicky feature IMO. Even the touch screen I rarely use. The iDrive controller is excellent, intuitive and easy to use.

I am ex-military, I spent ~8 years in Germany. From a car perspective, they have it nailed. Better roads and most Autobahns are in really good shape. If you haven't visited you should definitely put it on your list to do so when COVID ends. Imagine a world where most people actually use turn signals.

Been to Munich and the surrounding area a few years back before the pandemic. Did not spend enough time on the autobahn though, at least not on unlimited speed sections. That being said, I enjoyed the backroads despite being stuck in a Volvo SUV. I plan to visit again post Pandemic and see more of the country. I've been to Italy, Switzerland, France and part of Austria, and they all have fun and scenic drives, esp. the Alps, but definitely German roads are a step above. I was just surprised with how often their local roads are limited to just 50kph lol.

Yes, the standard in Germany is 50 kph in "city limits" and 100 kph on normal roads external to the cities. Could be worse, France's outside the city limits is now 80 kph. There was a huge outcry when it happened but they didn't go back.

Two areas where Germany could improve: 1. Sensor traffic lights--there are surprisingly few and heading to the airport at 4 AM with nobody on the roads is REALLY frustrating when you catch about 20 lights. 2. Reduced speed ahead signs. It is not awesome transitioning from an unlimited Autobahn to a 100 kph Autobahn
