So, I'm still working on this trans swap. I figured I would replace the bushings on the shifter rod, I bought 2 from WorldPac and got the old ones out, the new ones are way to thick and both are short but the bushing on the front needs to be longer.
Can anyone tell me where I can get the right bushings?
Thanks,
Art
the shifter is the proper shifter? its not a short throw from a newer bmw?
you can go to this site and look up the numbers

Thanks, I saw nothing on that site. I have been looking at plenty of "short shifter" kits as those would have the small bushing and at least tighten that part up but none of them have good reviews! Can someone recommend a "short shifter kit" ???????

i used one of these on my car, i think one of the top ones, back in the day. it made it short and wasn't loose at all. it was on stock bushings. i have no experience with after market short shift kits.
the set up you are using, is the one on the right in this article? not the type with the Sheetmetal console?

Yes the one I am using now is the one on the right. I ended up buying a short throw shifter off Ebay for $30 so that took care of one bushing, then used the front Knuckle off the transmission that didnt fit right because it fit like a new bushing....everything works great now! Very tight and nice short throw! Thanks guys!
