    Thinking about 2015 x1

    Hi everyone,
    I’m currently looking at a 120 000 miles 2015 x1.
Cosmetically the car is in great shape.
It does however have few things that make me worry.
-Took it for a spin; it has the auto shut off option, when you let go of the break instead of it going back to drive it goes to park.
-the owner quickly pointed out that the battery in the car is an after market battery and that’s what’s causing the issue.
-there is no lights on the dashboard.
    - I connected the scanning tool and it came back with one confirmed code and few other “history codes”;

    Scan Report - 2015 BMW X1 L4, 2.0L; Turbo

    1 Confirmed Code
P0882 TCM Power Input Signal Low 1

    Pending Code
P0882 TCM Power Input Signal Low

    0 Permanent Codes

    4 Engine Codes
(history) 387F Powermanagement: Standby current violation HISTORY

(History) 2DE2 Valvetronic-actuator, control Phase U: open circuit HISTORY

(History) 2775 air mass, plausibility: air mass too low HISTORY

(History)38F3 MSA, detection: Start delay HISTORY

    1 Transmission Control Module Code
    (History4EB3 No description available HISTORY

    1 Instrument Cluster Code

    A559 No description available
    HISTORY
    2 Body Domain Controller Codes
    A0B3 No description available HISTORY
    A10A No description available

person does not drive the car a lot, it’s sitting on driveway for the most part.

Pretty much non existent service history.
    other than regular oil changes.

Would like to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you.

BMW doesn't make batteries. They all come from the same factory just branding is different. Take a volt meter and see if the battery has a charge. Electrical issues usually start with a discharged battery. If it's discharged you can try a good battery and see if all the issues clear up. Check the the alternator and make sure it's working also. If the issues remain, I'd walk away.
Lime Rock Park... the most fun you can have in a mile and a half.
