    2017 BMW X3 Headrest Question

I am looking at a BMW X3. Code is showing: 930958 - Driver's active head restraint resistance too high, and it has a "bent headrest"
The headrest part # is 52107255867

I am trying to figure out if the headrest, in the course of an accident, was bent? If the headrest, in the course of the accident, had an airbag that caused it to eject thereby making the headrest look bent? Or, if someone bent this headrest on purpose, and has set off the sensor inside of it?

Any insight would be helpful. My local BWM and their Paint & Body shop have been of minimal assistance.

I tried to add a picture, but it would not load. :-(

If you wish to display images in your forum message, you have a couple of options to do so from the desktop.

While you are putting together your forum message or editing it, click on the INSERT IMAGE icon and select either FROM COMPUTER or FROM URL.

If you opt for the FROM URL, consider using DropBox.Com, Google Photos, Free Image Hosting(.net) to host your photos. Avoid using Photo Bucket or ImgUr as both make it difficult to link to forums.

    I hope that helps!

930958 - Driver's active head restraint resistance too high

When a message speaks of resistance too high, it's talking about electrical resistance and not physical resistance. I believe that active head restraint system has an airbag type device to snug up the headrest to your head in the event of a collision. My quick guess is resistance in the connector is too high causing the fault.
