I got a brand new 2022 BMW X3 and luckily I got a nail in one of my run-flat tires. Took the car to BMW and it turns out that they need to back order the tire due to COVID shortage and BC flooding (BC Canada). BMW says that it could take up to one month to receive the new tire. For the time being, BMW patched the tire and says that it's ok to drive a couple of months even on the highway. Just wondering if it's safe to drive with a patched run flat tire? From what I read online, the run-flat tire is not advisable to be repaired.
Yes, you're fine. In the early days of run-flats no one wanted to repair them since they really didn't know how they'd respond to it. The industry has gotten comfortable with it.
