OK my nav head unit has had this issue for a while where the screen randomly goes black and comes back but the radio continues to work. Now the screen is madly opening and closing radio isn't working, and the screen is flickering way more often. Also the trunk latch randomly won't work, I do not think they are related but if so its got to be ignition switch. My only question, wtf is going on. The screen still moves when the ignition is off. Now it's just making a constant wirring noise, like the motor is just free spinning in there.
Edit: oh and the blower motor is no longer working.
Edit pt2. Final stage resistor wiring was loose. Fan works now

Does wiggling the connector when plugged in create an intermittent?
Disconnect and examine the FSU connector. There may be a burned connection.
One test for the iggy switch is to turn on the passenger visor light. If this has an effect on the , the switch may be bad.
OTOH, the nav unit may be at end of life.

I tried the sun visor trick, didn't do anything. I got this headunit a year ago and it already died, that stinks. I have my old one with dead pixels in the screen 5 hours away at my house. It seemed to calm down when I checked on it later. Wonder why the trunk is intmittant. Sometimes I hate this car.

You did not share the miles on the car. My ignition switch was causing all sort of random issues touring with 171k. These can cause 1/2 power to the display. Searching old threads will see some of the issues. FYI. The automatic transmission takes a different part than a manual transmission (ignition switch)
210k miles, I think its fine I'm not sure though. I'm gonna dig around later for more Info. I think im gonna sell the car. I want something lighter.

It sounds like you have installed a bad cheap after-market nav head unit.
Otherwise, may be nothing is wrong with the ignition switch or the car.
