    "Door open" warning

I had a Ford Ranger with a similar problem: I'd "load" the car to the left or right (right in the Ranger's case) and I'd get a warning that a door is ajar. All doors are secure, so it's likely a microswitch failing somewhere.

The question is, where? The Ranger's problem went away temporarily when it slathered the driver's door latch in silicone juice. But the wagon has five doors. I guess I'll have to lube them all up, but it would help if I could narrow the trigger point down.

The Ranger's issue was on the driver's door, since it got the most use. I'm thinking of going after that door first and most aggressively. I've also noticed that central locking is balky on the driver's door -- if I lock with the key at the shotgun door, everything locks but the driver's door. Thoughts?

Thanks, Erich, I'll see if I can spot it.

The plastic contact bumper on the striker switches wear down with time. A dab of JB weld on each that is worn is the easiest way to fix it.

Yes, I think it's a matter of wear. All the strikers look pretty good except for the driver's. I've adjusted it a bit to see if that helps.
