I have a 2008 750LI with a salvage title...

It runs and drives, the damage was fixed... but it's got a few lights on the dash and some cosmetic issues. I thought about fixing it up a bit and driving it... its only got 132k on the clock... but I also thought... maybe the 4.8 would squeeze into an E34 or something else pretty nicely. Anybody ever swapped one of these into another Beemer? Or have thoughts on what i should do with her?

I am currently swapping an N62 into a Z3

The main problem with swapping the N62 into other chassis is that it is an "N" series engine and with the N series engines BMW ditched their previous dimensional limitations which previously allowed all models to physically fit any BMW engine (exempting things like oil pans). This is actually why BMW shoved a V12 into a Z3 in the late 90s, to showcase their ability to fit the largest engine in the smallest chassis they offered at the time
This means many significant chassis modifications have to be made in order to fit the engine. I had to cut a huge notch in the framerail to fit the alternator, the other framerail needed a small notch for clearance on the timing chain guide tensioner bolt. In total I have counted 18 other modifications to the chassis/framerails itself that were required simply to fit the engine including a custom steering shaft

That is not even getting into the wiring differences and problems that are likely to come up from running it in a car as old as the E34. No off the shelf parts for the N62 so theres no way to run a CANBUS emulator for example unless you build one yourself
