First off, Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I'm planning on installing coilovers on my E39 over the winter (or early spring) and I'm assuming I'm gonna need to run spacers as to not rub on the springs. I'm going with the BC Racing DS series coils, and have two sets of wheels I'll be running; my summer wheels which are 18x8.5 (square) ET13, and my winter wheels which are 17x8 (square) ET20. I'm not trying to stance my car or anything like that. I just want clean, flush fitment. I'm also assuming I'm going to have to get my fenders rolled but that's not an issue. I'm more worried about what size spacers I'll need to run with each of my wheel setups. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.
I’m on BC coilovers too. I have 17x8 (front) and 17x9 (rear) style 32’s with a 20mm offset for front and 26mm for the rear. No issues whatsoever. I feel like it depends mostly on tire size. I ran 235/45/17 up front and 255/40/17 on the rear with no rubbing issues. Haven’t had to roll fenders or anything! Hope this helps; currently I have my style 32’s with 215/45/17 with a 15mm spacer on the front, and 235/40/17 with a 10mm spacer on the rear. Any more questions feel free to ask!

Style 66 and ST-X coilovers (similar to KW variant 1) I have H&R 15mm spacers front and rear. Rear fenders were rolled by Group 2 Motorsports, Seattle, WA.
2001 540 M-Sport (cdn), ST X (KW) coilovers, H&R 15mm spacers, Eibach anti roll bars (28mm/18mm), Beastpower rear antiroll bar brackets, M5 rear chassis reinforcements (traction rods), Strong Strut front upper strut bar, Dinan Stage 1 software, factory M-Audio subs, Bavsound speaker upgrade, Bluebus bluetooth integration, Stop Tech SS brake lines, ATE coated brake rotors, ATE ceramic brake pads.
My 17x8 ET20 wheels are also Style 32s with 235/45/17 tires. Would you advise going with the same spacer setup that you have since I'm running a bigger tire upfront, or do you think I'd be ok with 10mm spacers on all four corners? Ideally, I'd like to get one set of four spacers that I can use with both wheel setups but I don't know if that will be possible since both sets of wheels are a different size and offset.
I have 15mm all the way around, style 66 square 9” rims, just regular Bilstein sport with OEM sport springs. Have not had the time to do my BC Racing coil overs yet. Order the spacers from Titan Wheel Accessories. For four spacers, $70.49, they’re supposedly machined here in the USA, they’re based out of Michigan. Been rolling on them since 2015, they were round then, still round today, no shakes. But oddly, they do not sell the extended bolts, I went with the 45mm bolts from H&R, think I got them from FCP, if not, then it was ECS.
